This crowned Medicine Buddha statue features a bright finish using 24k gold gilding. Unique features of the statue include the bodhisattva crown and jewels. Indeed, the sculpture depicts a fully enlightened Buddha. As a result, we can offer the buyer semi-precious stones that we will embed in the crown and jewels at no extra cost. Medicine Buddha sits in full lotus pose depicting the classic Varada mudra. Additionally, he holds a sprig of the myrobalan between the thumb and forefinger of his right hand. Also, he holds the medicine bowl in the palm of his left hand resting in his lap. The medicine bowl holds the three nectars which eliminate the three poisons.
The traditional lost wax sculpting method was used to hand carve the statue. As a result, the buyer can rest assured they have procured a monastic quality statue. The gold gilding finish was applied using the fire gilding method which leaves a 24k gold residual finish. The shine of the statue is everlasting and it is the same high quality sculpture used in Tibetan monasteries.
